An Appeal

The last few years have brought several improvements to Sri Pajaka Kshetra, under the guidance of Sri Sri Vidyavallabha Tirtha, the current pontiff of Sri Kaniyooru Matha. Chief among the improvements is the renovation of Sri Madhva Mandira which houses the footprints of Sri Madhvacharya.

Determined to make Sri Pajaka Kshetra, the birthplace of Sri Madhvacharya, the preeminent site for all things Dvaita, and to enhance the cause of Dvaita, the pontiff has launched several more projects. Some of these projects are described below. The pontiff appeals to all to contribute to these and other projects. He also blesses everyone, regardless of the nature and magnitude of contributions: May the protection of Sri Yoga Narasimha and the guidance of Sri Madhvacharya always guard everyone.

Sri Ananda Tirtha Gurukula: The pontiff has long cherished the thought of operating an institute of spiritual learning at Sri Pajaka Kshetra. Being the birthplace of Sri Madhvacharya, Sri Pajaka Kshetra is indeed the most appropriate location for such an institute. Sri Ananda Tirtha Gurukula, a school started about two years ago, is a small step in realizing the pontiff's noble thought. However, at present, classes are held in the halls of Sri Madhva Mandira, causing great inconvenience to both visitors and pupils. A complex dedicated to the school provides the environment pupils need to fully harness the unique spirit of Sri Pajaka Kshetra.

The estimated cost of constructing the school complex is Rs. 10,000,00 (10 Lakhs) Raising this capital and reaching the goal of  imparting the knowledge derived from Sri Acharya requires generous contributions from all. Contributing to this cause is a way to earn the grace of Sri Krishna, Vayu, and Acharya.

Here are some suggested monetary contributions. Please contact us if you wish to make these or other contributions. An inscription in the school complex will recognize each contributor.

 Cause

 Contribution in Rupees

 Educating 1 pupil for a month 1,000
 Educating 1 pupil for a year 10,000
 Educating 1 pupil for 10 years 1,00,000
Expenses of the school for one day 2,000
Expenses of the school for one month 60,000

Suvarna Saligrama Malike: Due to the blessings of the pontiff and due to generous contributions from the faithful, Sri Madhva Mandira has been exquisitely renovated, and it now attracts many visitors to the Udupi region. The complex includes a temple of Sri Madhvacharya that houses an idol installed by the renowned Sri Vadiraja Tirtha of Sri Sodhe Matha.

The pontiff has the goal of offering an ornament of gold-adorned Saligrama stones to the Acharya. An offering of Saligrama to the Archarya is most appropriate because, like a Saligrama, he too always has Sri Hari in his heart.

The estimated cost of this offering is Rs. 3,00,000 (3 Lakhs). The pontiff invites all to generously contribute to making this offering possible.  Contributions may be made in cash, or in the form of Saligrama stones and gold. Please contact us for details.

Bhojanashale and Pakashale: Thanks to the improvements in boarding and lodging facilities, and due to past visitors spreading the word, the number of visitors to Sri Pajaka Kshetra has seen a major increase. To cope with the increased demand, the kitchen and dining areas are being upgraded. When completed, the new facility is sure to provide visitors a better experience.

At the same time, the kitchen that was originally part of the house where Sri Acharya grew up is being transformed so visitors can better appreciate Sri Acharya's life. For example, the stone lids Sri Acharya is said to have easily placed (when he was still a boy) on the top of their containers are being preserved and showcased.
